Marine Aquariun Tank Procedures

Temperature: Results should be = 74 to 78

  1. Green is exact, Tan/Red = 1 degree lower, Blue = 1 degree higher
Specific Gravity: Results should be 1.022 to 1.024

Free Ammonia: Results should be = zero

  1. Drop a sensor in the cup and wait 10-15 minutes.
Nitrite:  Results should be = zero
  1. Add one drop of Nitrite Reagent #1 and wait 3-5 Minutes
Nitrate:  Results should be < 10 mg/L
  1. Use Nitrite results and add one drop of Nitrate Reagent #2 and wait 5-8 Minutes
Marine pH: Results should be between 8.2 to 8.4
  1. Add one drop of Marine pH reagent, read from chart.
Alkalinity: Results should be 2.5 to 5.0 meq/L (5 to 10 drops)
  1. Use pH results and add fine drops of Alkalinity reagent.
  2. Color should go from Blue to Yellow.
  3. Divide number of drops by 2 to get results.
