Subaru Shoot
Function: Commercial Shoot
Location: Lancaster, CA
Date: August, 1998
1 : Subaru Legacy commercial shoot in the desert with giant metallic letters indicating All Wheel Drive.
2 : Hot and boring

August 4, 1998
Mitchell Drain, Joe Jackman, Sean Cunningham and I had to go north of Lancaster to the middle of the dessert for a Subaru AWD car commercial shoot.  The shoot took place on an airport strip in the middle of basically nowhere.  The basic premise was for these huge monolithic AWD letters to be standing in the middle of this desert road and the Subaru All Wheel Drive Legacy weaves in and out of the letters showing off its expert driving ability.  In this photo, we see what supervising is all about.  One to stick his hands up in the air and look important and two other idiots to actually do the work.

Joe and I playing keepaway from the runt of the litter. No actually we are measuring the exact height necessary to make it look like we can justify taking 2 days off from work for this shoot.

The Legacy and its reflection.

We were attempting to measure the exact length of Mitch's Supervising "skill". You can see that Mitch is telling me to go longer as we inform him that each space between the marks on the tape is an inch not a millimeter.

Heated argument over who should fetch who the next Coke. It was ridiculously hot out there, over 110 degrees in the shade.

Joe, the tortured pensive artist hard at work. Actually he was givin a time out for trying to kill the director. He needed a little time to think his actions over.
